The new detailed map of the entire Bartram Trail, from the NCBT Society, will be available on July 1. This trail guide will be first and most accurate map of the entire BT, replacing the former section-by-section maps.
The effort has been years in the making, and we congratulate the NC
Bartram Society for their fine work. Development of this new BT map has also been an expensive endeavor, about $10,000 to produce. Anyone's donation help is appreciated.
The Bartram is a wonderful wilderness trail in the high Appalachian Mountains of Georgia and North Carolina, with most of its length through the Nantahala National Forest of NC. The trail society of that state is passionate about the BT and conservation efforts in general. In the tradition of the more widely-known, and hiked, AT and Benton MacKaye trails . . . the Bartram is a wonderful resource and we encourage everyone to "go take a hike".
