The young fiddle phenom Adam Larkey and his Mountain Time Band are the featured entertainment program tonight at the Rock Creek Park Campfire Event. The program is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Erwin TN every Friday night during the summer, at the park amphitheater adjacent to the Rock Creek swimming hole. Admission and parking is FREE, but be early -- Adam draws a crowd wherever he plays. Program starts at 8:00pm.
Adam appeared at the White House earlier this year, as one of Michelle Obama's guests for her ongoing appreciation-of-the-arts program. As one of the top talents from around the nation,
Adam was invited to hear the concert and take part in the bluegrass and country music workshops performed by Allison Krauss and Brad Paisley. This little dude can saw on a fiddle, and his voice ain't too bad either. Rock Creek Recreation Area is a wonderful National Forest facility, along the rushing waters of Rock Creek at the base of the Unaka Mountains and the Unaka Wilderness Area.
